Nutrition

Nutrition supports our body to heal, rest, grow and repair. There are so many things you can incorporate to decrease side affects, inflammation, pain, and sickness whilst increasing digestion, energy, quality of sleep, and healing.

Nutrition, minimising physical & emotional stress and surrender are the 3 main factors that I believed enabled me to navigate my high dose chemo without taking any side affect medication and feel well in myself.

Below you can find out more about food, supplements, juicing, fasting, sleep & colonics. All nutritional suggestions on this website are endorsed and supported by Phil Hall of Healthwise (MSc in Molecular Nutrition and qualified naturopath).

  • Food.

    Every food has different effects on the body, which can be both beneficial or harmful. You can find out more about foods here that are anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and nutritionally dense, along with some ideas of which foods you might like to avoid.

  • Supplements.

    There are a myriad of supplements out there and it can feel overwhelming to know where to start. It’s important to do your research and be mindful about which ones you take. I share which supplements I have used to support me on my cancer journey, which felt the most helpful and which ones I will continue to take for healing and why.

  • Sleep.

    We all know that we should make sure we get good quality, regular sleep, and this is even more important when your body is on a healing journey. This section includes advice on getting more sleep, meditations to aid sleep, and yoga posture to relax you before bed.

  • Fasting.

    Fasting can be very beneficial during cancer treatment. I explain what I did and how it helped me.

  • Juicing.

    I juice about a litre of fresh vegetable juice per day, and include ginger and turmeric in it. Here I am juicing after radiotherapy - I talk about the benefits of juicing, what I include in my juices, and how to reduce waste!

  • Cleansing.

    No-one would disagree that cancer treatments are very toxic. That is why it makes perfect sense to DETOX your body before you start treatment! I did exactly that, and continued during my treatment and I know it has made a HUGE difference to my energy levels and well-being throughout. Don’t underestimate the benefits of increasing your daily intake of filtered water!
